Ghana’s power transmission company has announced the restoration of power supply to the northern part of the country after a system failure which resulted in outages across the north.
A statement issued by the Corporate Affairs of GRIDCo revealed that at about 05:29 am, the 330/161kV auto transformer at the Kintampo substation tripped, causing an outage to the Anwomaso-Kumasi Transmission Line, resulting in the system disturbance.
The statement said restoration commenced immediately and full restoration completed at 07:35 am.
“GRIDCo apologises for the inconvenience caused,” the statement said.
