ADNOC Gas has signed a five-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with France’s TotalEnergies to deliver up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, the UAE company said in a statement.

The agreement reflects TotalEnergies’ confidence in ADNOC Gas’s supply reliability and delivery record, built through a longstanding partnership, ADNOC Gas said.

“The agreement reflects the strength of our LNG business, the competitiveness of our supply offering and our ability to secure long-term partnerships that support growth, enhance resilience and create lasting value for shareholders,” ADNOC Gas Chief Executive Officer Fatema Al Nuaimi said.

Global demand for LNG continues to grow, and ADNOC Gas is well positioned to benefit from that trend, Al Nuaimi added.

The agreement comes as Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) advances its newly launched global LNG marketing and trading platform, which combines the LNG marketing activities of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading capabilities of ADNOC Trading.

The integrated platform is intended to expand access to a more diversified LNG portfolio and provide customers with more flexible supply arrangements, ADNOC Gas said.

The platform is targeting 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030, a scale that would place it among the world’s leading LNG marketing and trading organisations, the company said.

Stéphane Michel, TotalEnergies’ president for gas, renewables and power, said the agreement marked another milestone in the companies’ longstanding partnership.

The new supply would benefit from the UAE’s strategic location between Europe and Asia and help TotalEnergies strengthen its position as a major LNG portfolio supplier, Michel said.

TotalEnergies is also a shareholder and strategic partner in ADNOC Gas.

ADNOC Gas expects the future integration of the Ruwais LNG project to significantly increase its production capacity as it seeks to expand its presence in global LNG markets and meet rising demand.
