French oil and gas company TotalEnergies has signed a partnership agreement with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a unit of BlackRock, involving $1.8 billion in capital to develop its oil and gas infrastructure assets in several African countries.

Under the agreement, TotalEnergies will pay GIP a throughput-based tariff for a period of up to 15 years.

“We are pleased to strengthen our relationship with GIP through this infrastructure agreement, which crystallises the value of some of our midstream infrastructure assets in Africa,” TotalEnergies Chief Financial Officer Jean-Pierre Sbraire said.
