South Africa’s Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr. Gwede Mantashe (MP) will officially open the inaugural two-day African Critical Minerals Summit scheduled from August 29- 30, 2023 at Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

The summit brings together key stakeholders, industry experts, policymakers, and investors to explore opportunities, foster collaboration, and promote sustainable mining practices.

It aims to position Africa as the leading critical minerals producer in the world and serves as a catalyst for a just energy transition by leveraging Africa’s critical minerals investments and projects as key drivers for sustainable development.

A statement from the ministry urged members of the media to attend and cover the event.
