UAE independent power producer (IPP) Amea Power is currently in talks with Gabonese authorities to develop a 50MWp solar power plant in Oyem, the capital of Woleu-Ntem province in northern Gabon.

The group’s CEO Hussain Al Nowais, met with Carmen Ndaot, Gabon’s Minister for Investment Promotion, Public-Private Partnerships and the Improvement of the Business Environment in Libreville.

According to Gabonese reports, the plant would be sited about 7km from the city centre and near the province substation.

The plant is set to provide clean energy to households and industries in the provinces of Woleu-Ntem and Ogooué-Ivindo.

Amea Power, has completed several clean energy projects in the region.

Last year the company deployed a 50MWp solar PV plant in Togo.

The company also has operational projects in in Mali, Chad and Uganda.
