Botswana experienced power outages in several parts of the country on Saturday, leaving households and businesses without electricity.
The country’s power utility, Botswana Power Corporation (BPC), confirmed the outage in a statement, saying it was caused by a disturbance on the power system.
BPC said electricity had been restored to most affected areas, while teams were continuing to work to reconnect customers in the remaining areas.
The power utility apologised to customers for what it described as an unplanned power interruption.
