Ghana’s largest Indigenous Oil Marketing Company, GOIL, has urged the public to disregard audio purporting to cite some of its retail outlets as allegedly involved in adjusting fuel pumps to the detriment of customers.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, GOIL said the audio in question dates back to 2019, noting that the issue being mentioned had already been thoroughly investigated and actions were taken to resolve the matter.
“Specifically, misunderstandings regarding pump deliveries were addressed and resolved five years ago,” the company said.
It added that subsequent verifications by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) have confirmed the accurate delivery of fuel at its stations and, therefore, advised the public to disregard the audio being mischievously re-circulated on social media.
